Minneapolis Glass Artist, Marlo Cronquist will be on-site at Angela Lensch Gallery on Saturday, July 16, for the debut of her 2016 Murrine Glass Collection. Cronquist first started working with glass while studying sculpture and furniture design at Minneapolis College of Art & Design, where she shared a studio with now gallery owner, Angela Lensch. Cronquist transferred those skills to glasswork at the Minnesota Center for Glass Arts in Minneapolis where she has studied and now teaches. She also studied at the world renowned Corning Museum of Glass in New York, with Bill Gudenrath, John Miller, and Maestro Davide Salvadore. Her work is best known for its use of color and its balance between traditional techniques and contemporary design. She finds inspiration from the art and cultures of the places she has traveled to such as Italy, Morocco, and Spain.

Join us for a glass of wine and art conversation on Saturday from 10-5pm. The gallery will feature Cronquist’s newest collection of handblown glass vessels and pendant lights. Marlo will also have samples of her handmade Murrine Glass, for a behind the scenes peek into her process.

Angela Lensch Gallery has a variety of Clip-On Earring options for all those women out there without pierced ears. Nearly all of Angela’s handmade earrings are now able to be converted to be a Clip-On Earring. With Angela tending the shop and her studio in the back of the gallery it only takes a few minutes to have a pair of earrings switched over. And to top off this great opportunity, Angela has a variety of Clip-On Earring styles. “My favorite new Clip-On option are the Hoops! From the size of a dime to hoops larger then a silver dollar. I have four different hoop earring sizes now available for non-pierced ears, in both gold and silver.” Also available are the traditional half ball lever clip-ons, a similar style without the ball and the newest, a filigree half ball (featured in picture with my signature “Woven Pearl” earrings. Clip-On earrings can be hard to find or only come in a limited number of options, this is not the case at Angela Lensch Gallery. “Lets give Clip-On Earrings a new definition; from simple drops, to fabulous dangles, to stylish HOOPS!” shares Angela with enthusiasm. Born and raised in East DePere, local Door County artist Joseph Kaftan creates his AMAZING mosaics at his studio in Valmy, Wi and also in his Seattle, WA studio.
