Upper Peninsula of Michigan fine artist and musician, Bobbie Blackburn will be on-site at Angela Lensch Gallery on Thursday, August 11th, from 1pm-4pm for the debut of her on-of-a-kind, Peace, Moon and Dream Catchers. Bobbie fabricates each frame by hand from either branches or recycled tomato cages. She then builds them up with fabric and braids them with leather, hemp, jute, linen and/or cotton twine. Every strand and tassel is hand cut from her vast variety of vintage fabric. Each one is then topped off with stones, beads, flowers, feathers, charms, antique buttons, vintage costume jewelry and a few even hold Lake Superior Agates, hand picked by Bobbie herself. Stop in and see how Bobbie puts a fun boho twist to an age-old tradition.
In addition to her unique ‘Catcher’ collection, enjoy Bobbie’s limited edition collection of hand painted Lake Superior rocks entitled “Owl Expressions” as well as her elegant collection of wrapped zen rocks. ”My art is created to empower and inspire others while promoting peace, love and good vibes,” shares Blackburn.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Bobbie Blackburn and her partner Eli Smith will join resident kinetic sculptor and musician, Tony Bessen, for an evening of live music in the beautiful and flowering sculpture garden of Angela Lensch Gallery from 4-7pm in celebration of the 7th annual Women’s Fine Art Galleries of Egg Harbor PROGRESSIVE ART CRAWL.
Eli flows on the rythym guitar, Bobbie’s vocals soar through the air like velvet and Tony’s guitar solos magically weave it all together. Enjoy covers like Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, Take This Heart of Gold by Mandolin Orange and Breakdown by Tom Petty in addition to original songs by Tony Bessen.
